I have a late 2000 280 ROS. Lately I noticed it missed at rpms 2800 to about 4000. The tach is also jumping around (at 2800 +/- 300 rpm, at 6000 +/- 1000 rpm, more as the motor twists up). It accelerates fine up to about 7000 rpms and flattens out. The plugs are fine (reddish grey). I ran a static test on it. Everything checked out. Will a failing fuel pump cause the tach to jump around? A loose ground or what else did I miss? I'm sure someone has an answer. Thanks.
