T stat hoses

THE t stat hoses that cross over from stb to port and then down and t off at cowl pan, do they dump overboard or back into adaptor plate im running a 1 pc 2.4 plate i see some plates with hose barbs drilled into each side i gotta get this right for cooling any advice will help im hearing horror stories on this project i took on my problem is i cant drive 55!

dump to the river....the side plugs on plate is used for dry stacking adapter plate....

on a 2 piece plate they would come down off port side ...tee...one returning to 2 piece plate and other dumping out as the tale tell.

TEX you are the man. youll be gettin tired of me asking questions but you must have been a merc mech or experienced, its not eazy for a simple answer on this site. just about ready for bolt up the lower came on the mid but better do h20 pump now who knows how old. have a great day ART one more run with new mini-tabs torque-tab and lowered motor ilttle see pic of the ugly dennis prop that runs like mad dog. that bend is intentionally shaped 1984 yr, too bad its now way small see ya

You should have the two thermostat housings dumps teed together and dump to the river out back of cowl.

You need to run the merc restrictor washers with the rubber gromment from the t stats on them.
If your merc dealer can't get them and don't know what the part number is I can go to the garage and look at the package. I have a spare set.

The poppet hose will need to come out the cowl, but you will need to restrict it to keep from dumping to much water. You'll have to play with that to get restrictions. Right. Most people stick a small peice of smaller hose I the end till they see the temps and wp they are looking for.

BAD NEWS took it out for final test run with 2,4 mag which ran 75 3 wks ago wont turn over 4500 super hole shot hooks up shoots up to 4500 and thats it... not missing sounds ok didnt change anything last 1,5 '' of throttle does nothing. what could have happened boat been inside. i am so bummed out depressed & discusted.

What all did you change, just from 2 piece to one piece adapter?

Check throttle linkage obviously first!

Didnt change anything ready to put the big boy on 2.5 15'' just wanted to do a final run with 2.4 mag which always turned 6000 @ 75, dont know what happened throttle ok sounds great idles great 4500-4700 thats it....ART ITS EFI stock 220
