How do I eliminate Rev Limiter on 1997 Evinrude 115?

Is there a wire I can cut or other modification, or do I have to change the CDI to something like this.....??

Also is is the factory rev limiter a hard cutoff or does it control RPM by dropping cylinders one by one?

Yes you need to install a different power pack. Make sure it's the right one for your motor or it won't plug and play. If you have to, call CDI tech support and ask them about what one will work on your motor.

Do you have a 60 or 90 degree engine? Photo is for a 90 degree.
