View Full Version : Is this sleeve seperating from block? see pics in link

I am looking at 2000 150 2.5 that is down- rather have a 200 to build but this is what I am finding-
Looks like the sleeve may be seperating from the block on the down cylinder- scroll to bottem of link for best picture-

Thanks for responding- scroll down and look at 2:00 O'clock position on second to last picture- there is a rough area on the edge of the sleeve(which is also of some concern)
A dark line is visable at the sleeve - block seam.
Sleeve and block are separating. Looks like lots of water in motor at some point in time. If it was me, I would keep searching.

looks like it to me,that cylinder looks to have had water introduced at running temp,maybe?:confused:are you looking for a block or the whole motor?if the trim and lower are good,it may be worth it if it isnt a "saltine"!

Now I see it. I always thought the head gasket sealed to the sleeve. That's why I like this site for learning new things.
