Tach question

Will a tach set up for a 150XS work on a V6? My Switzer has a matching set of Medallion gauges. I would like to keep and use the tach, there is no 1234 switch on the rear of the tach,so if it dont work as is, it wont work.

If they are digital gauges, then the engine needs to have smartcraft......
