V8 LU on a V6?

Just curious if anyone has done this swap, or it it will even fit. I've got a 4.0 V8 gearcase that I just added a Bob's LWP to, and I'm wondering if it will work on my 3.0 200 Looper?

I'm thinking the lower 1.76 gears in the V8 case will drop my revs on the 200 with it's stock 1.86 gears.

You would need to cut a 25 inch shift shaft to the correct length for a 20 inch engine as the top of the 6 and 8 are different and the 8 is longer from the seem to the shifter in the unit. It will also need the top half of the drive shaft changed.

It will slow down due to the added size. Better to run the 6 with a larger prop.

You will need to raise the motor 3/4 inch up as the V8 case is taller from the mounting surface to the prop shaft. I am with Racer, better to use a V6 case and different prop.

Thanks guys, you've saved me the trouble of pulling off the V8 case to compare it to a V6 one. It can stay where it is!
