No problem. The engine is in Miami, FL near 33185 and is a 2.4L.
I think it's an 88', based on the boat it came off of. The S/N I pulled from the midsection is
S/N: 06461609 (tel:06461609)

That power head is a first generation, last built about 81.Are you sure it's a 200,what is the bore size.A 200 would be a chrome bore, and would not be able to be bored.010 over, unless it had been sleeved before in that hole. Also I beleve the front cover is from a later motor, the first gen 2.4 were vertical reed except the 225 and it would be seven petal.

Serial number from mid says its a 1983 2.4 200 as we know things change, at least thats what the clamp is:D

Hello Outasite, very impressive. Yes, this powerhead has been worked on prior to me taking it to get Reworked. Fortunately, the guys from Layton Marine are the same people who have worked on it both times. Cylinders #2 and #3 have been sleeved, the other 4 cylinders are Chromed.

I would venture a guess that the clamp and front cover are 1983,and the block was changed at some point in time.

I'm gonna have to concur. I purchased the complete engine off of a guy who had it mounted on a Checkmate. He never mentioned any prior work done to the engine, just that it had low compression and needed some work. I pulled the engine from the boat and separated tit from the mid with the intention of rebuilding it. When I dropped it off at Layton, he noticed his own work he had done to one of the cylinders many years prior. I've had it stored away in the garage for almost 2 years now.
