Had very slight leak on an old CMC jackplate where the shaft goes up and down. Still had plenty of fluid in resovoir. Sucked out as much fluid as possible and flushed it out a few times with trim fluid then added Lucas Power Steering additive. Leak has stopped. Was wondering if this could cause too much pressure and blow something out. It seems to be working fine in the driveway.

Called CMC. they recommended either 20 or 30W non detergent oil or hydraulic jack fluid, like for a floor or bottle jack. The additive did the trick so I'll flush it out and I'm adding NAPA hydraulic jack fluid.

I still had very slight leak. I've been using Bar's Jack Oil with stop leak this year and it seem to do the trick. Also just changed my Mercruiser Trim oil to the Bar's for a slight leak at the trim cylinders and I think it helped. I'll check tomorrow. Just an update an FYI.
