I just replaced the mid and lower on my 2.5, it's a 200 mid. While I was at it, I installed new Bob's motor mounts, and used all new gaskets. I now have a leak between the 2 halves, seems to be more on the stbd. side. Should I look for anything specific when I take it back apart? Should I use any gasket sealer next time? I've read they will leak around the mounts. Any help is appreciated.

i had a lower motor to cowling flange gasket let go also. i replaced it and used gasket sealer on them. the lead was after 12 years but if thenfactory had used sealer it would still be sealed.

I had a set of bobs mounts that were oversize by a small amount. The plates would not come together. Had a bud machine a little off and they then fit. Check the old mounts dia and then the new ones for correct size..

I had a buddy tell me the same thing today. One I had mine apart, I found that it already had mercury (black anodized) solid aluminum mounts. I put the Bob's in since they were new, but I will probably put those back in but will mic both and post my findings here.
