That's my Wife and Autistic son, but most of my energy is used up from working on the boats.
My boat journey started B4 I was 10, lasted till 18, and is now resurrected in my late 40's.
I'm sure my story isn't unique, but details will be filled in... when I'm not workin on my newest ones :leaving:

By the way, I still have all these boats, lol. Bought the first one about 3 years ago, and the last 2 in the last month

Take 2 mercs and 1 omc and call in the morning. As said before this is not a hobby but a habit and a cure is not in the immediate future.

The first one was a $500 friends garage find. A GW Invader that came with a 50 hp merc. Lower was screwed, and one hole was low. I wanted to get on the water, it had been years...

My poor wife and son humored me like troopers!
When a little money was available, I sourced a 1959 Merc Mark 58a for I think $275. Traded him the old dead merc for pulleys and a cable drum steering wheel. No battery required and a very light 45 hp 4 cylinder sounds good to me!

After a quick run, it was obvious the motor had to go up...

I would like to trade the GW Invader for an Aqua Lark, or Addictor 190
Yes, this and the rest I still own.

The 1974 Baja V-1500 and the 1972 Cobra V161 I found at the same time. I got to look at the Baja first. The seats were gone, and the carpet had been removed. It also came with a parts motor. We settled on $280 and drug it up to the road. I had to jump on the tung to get the trailer on the ball, one of the tires was off the bead, and the key for the spare was missing. Luckily I brought a couple different trailer tires, but the smallest one was the only to fit.

Well, the '68 1000ss had cylinder compression all over the place. A couple of nights soaking with seafoam and they all rose and evened out nicely. Had to rewire the motor, the shift cable was bad so I put a bent rod out the front to shift with. The power trim is still dead, but I wanted out on the water.

I have a 68 1000SS parked in my garage no power trim. Rebuilt the carbs and such, ran good. I just pulled the bearings out of the dizzy and put them in my 1150 so i didn't have to wait 4 days and $80. It doesn't have the zip when revving it up so i took it off of my 14' GW Invader and put on a 1150 with power trim. I bet your brushes are frozen up on your trim motor. I went through two of them before getting a good one. I have the old white shift box. After investing $150 in parts its still the same. The idle lever creeps up when you throttle it and then you go nowhere. Took that off too.

Well, the day after I picked up the Baja, I was told the Cobra was still available, but with no motor or trailer. The seats in it were good, and I had stolen the seats out of the Invader for the Baja so I dropped the Baja on the lawn and...

Originally, I wanted to take the 100 Merc off the Baja and put it on the Cobra, along with the second 100 Merc parts motor. Unfortunately, the parts motor had 0 compression on #5 so I found a donor motor and trailer from a Thundercraft I found at a friends house.

I still want a bigger motor on my 15' Baja, and I came across a weird looking boat with a '76 Merc 1500.

After tubing behind the Sleek Craft, we decide that its layed out great for watersports.

I like the look of it better with the windshield off of my next find, but am undecided as the deck is strong and can be sat or layed on.
