REmoved advance module and idle control module... Dangerous

Got a 1995 promax 200. Read at least 50 threads and And decided to remove the modules since I was having a lot of hesitation issues. It's now at my mechanic for timing set and a sync and link. Requested 23 at wot and 4 idle. He said that I'm going to run in to performance problems and it'll "cook it."

I know I'm probably ok but is there any truth to this?

22/23 should be jus fine but best ta "index" it ta get tha timin' right.... if he doesn't know how, find a new "mechanic".... idle is generic ta get it ta start/run.. needs ta be set in tha water, in gear ta whatever makes you and tha motor happy.... jmo.
