Original Ron Hill Chopper, best offer or trade
My wife says that I have to get rid of some props. I have 11 on the wall and two on the boats. Doesn't seem excessive to me!
This is a beautiful chopper labbed by Ron Hill. It is razor sharp and has no knicks or dings. 15 spline regular shaft 3 blades. This was built when Ron was racing MOD VP and reworking mercury props for some extra income.
I bought it in 1980 for $350 and it has been run only a few times as it was scary fast on our little pad-vee.
It has too much bow lift for our Stoker.
Supposedly it is a 26p but I think that might be an understatement. We took just over an hour to run the full length of lake powell including a gas stop when we first got it. After that, my wife never let me run it with her in that boat again .
I am open for any reasonable offer. It has lots of sentimental value,, but someone should be enjoying it.
Will trade,,, that way the wall looks the same, no new props!!! I am looking for a 21 pitch 4 blade over the hub (bass renegade or cleaver) for my 90 yamaha 2 stroke.
I have it listed on boatracingfacts with pics...
Robert
Added Pics,,, Engraved on Prop "1080 Ron HIll 'Snapper'",,, Leading edges sharpened and blades thinned,, I measure 0.050 1/4in back from leading edge. No nicks or dings. When I saw the part number ground off, I remember Ron telling me he did that because you didn't want your competitors seeing what pitch you are running.
