Can anybody give me ideas why my 260 won't turn more than 6800 rpm just got done breaking it in seems to idle fine but it just won't turn more than 6800 with a 27 pitch srx I know it should turn more my stock promax would run that ??? Any ideas it's on a 20 ft storm I think it weighs 1200 lbs ???

Try a smaller prop to see if it will turn more rpm.

process of elim,try another ECU,injectors.

First try a new set of plugs, if they are the ones you broke the motor in on could be that simple.

ECU, switchboxes, stator, plugged vacuum lines on the intake, I would try cleaning those out first including the little orifices on the horn. We had a similar issue last year only at a little bit lower RPMS, ended up being a combination of a few things, we replaced the switchboxes with known good ones, no difference, ended up being the stator and plugged vacuum lines from winterizing it.
