I wanted to get some feedback from some of the pros here before my maiden voyage next week. I have everything finished on my project boat minus regelcoating and new carpet, both of which aren't real bad right now, but wanted to get an idea of what kind of top end I can expect. I have a 1985 Laser, that's either a 180pro, or 2550. It's not a tunnel hull, and no other identification other than "Laser". Single console, 1994 Evinrude Intruder 150, 26P Raker II, 6" manual jackplate, with navigation set about 3" above the pan. Just curious about the top end. My last bass I owned was several years ago, and was a Stratos SS Extreme, with a 300 Merc, and was getting mid to low 70s, and was a pretty heavy boat. Thanks !

same bottom on both... should have been an hin on tha back end?.. maybe up high on tha hull (bottom), close to where tha top/hull meet... no paper work on it?... depending on weight, 65, 70 maybe?.. they don't like omc stuff very much....:reddevil:

I would have definitely went with a Merc, just got a great deal in the Intruder and I know where it's been. Thanks for the reply! Maybe I will have some time I the next few weeks to try it out and post.

I didnt mention I got the HIN, and know the exact day it was built, but nothing telling me what it is. I did a little more research and think it's the 2500. According to iboats, this was the only thing available that year.

may still have some of tha laser stuff around... i'll look for it.
they actually built five 18' v bottom models in that year.... most were deck/layout/decal differences... bottoms were tha same.

That would be great. Ive read a lot of info from people here and other places, and I'm bad about horse trading around. Wasn't sure if it's one to hold on to or not. Had a guy once tell me if it has propellers or tracks you don't want it haha. I trade around a lot of boats .

Ugh, transom was cracked on both sides at the splash well, all the wiring had been chewed up by rats, replaced 4 gauges, fender for the tandem axle trailer it's on. I've got carpet and gel coat next. Just a hobby of mine and as of right now with bow I trade around, I got time and about breaking even on the boat. Picked up the INTRUDER from a maintenance guy at work for $750, but sold an 85 120 I had for $1250, and traded a few old OMC parts for the prop. The motor came with a 22p, but I figured as light as the boat was it should turn a 26.

When I have time and figure out how to post pics, I will post some, and another i just sold. Mint condition Aztec Coyote, with the 5.8. made $2k off that one. Just ready to get back to outboards for a while.

transom itself, stringers, kickers, floor all were still good?

Surprisingly yes. It had been stored in a barn for years. I had to do an engine swap, and impeller change for a guy, and he just traded me the boat for the labor. Trolling motor, fish finder, and flasher still all in working condition. I've not seen any of these Lasers on a tandem trailer.

It's the typical wine red and black paint scheme I've seen on several online.
