Been wondering this for a while now....with Mercury' evolving technology in the Verado line would these engines be a power option for the lighter weight boats (ie those typically under 20') and why or why not? It seems the ROS (rated at 400 hp I believe) would be the most appropriate bc I would assume it has a much higher rpm capability. Would it be possible or even smart to mod the 300+ hp verados to be weight proportionate to maybe a liberator or euro? Where do s&f members see the future of racing outboards heading?Not very tech savvy here and eager to learn.
