Put some fire in the cylinders today. About to check timing, carbs and for loose screws etc after letting it sit for a few hours and cool back down. I love this crap and the neighbors are realizing first hand just how much, won't be a skeeter for miles!!

Got all the cowling back together, gonna let it sit overnight then check timing and carb adjustments and double check to make sure everything is tight then hit the water for some running and breaking in.

I had to rebuild this fall due to a burned up piston or else I would have had it filled with fogging oil. I have two cans on the shelf that I had purchased for fogging this one but the piston melting apart on me meant a full rebuild.

My plan was to hit the river here and stretch her out for a few hours but we have some severe thunderstorms moving through and the river is rising and getting trashy. I am sitting here looking for a reasonably close lake that will be big enough to do some running on.

Haha, with the modern 4 stroke craze I ve actually heard people referring to 2 strokes idling at the dock as "cammed" ....can't fix stupid I guess

Not a whole lot of port work to be honest, rod slots, exhaust ports were raised slightly and chamfered a bit, the opening where the exhaust leaves the block was opened up about 3/4" so the opening is now rectangle instead of a little square. I think that is how the ProMax is? I had to open up the exhaust plate to match the gasket and I used a ProMax gasket. Cylinders were all bored .015 with new Vertex pistons and I went with steel cage bearings this time. Front half is shaved .050 and I stuffed the crap out of anything I could. The deck surfaces were touched just enough to ensure a smooth flat surface and to match side to side. Heads were cut to 33cc. I think that sums it up, at least that's about all I can think of at the moment.

Thanks. I run a 1977 Cobra bass boat that I polished up and made pretty. I wish I had a better boat to play with but in the end it's just an old bass boat that I fish from more than anything else so I didn't want to go wild with the porting and lose the bottom end. My boat is a kevlar layup, which I understand is a tiny bit lighter than fiberglass, but fully loaded with fuel and all my gear my boat is in the 1650-1700lb range witch is light for a bass boat but way heavy compared to those 7-900lb beauties most you guys fly. One day I'll have an XB-2002 and maybe even a Hydrostream of some sort and then I'll have a nice poppin and cracklin high rpm beast to play with. :)

Thank you. I talked with James Perry a little this morning and he told me that he did add some heavier chamfer to the exhaust ports, he touched them very lightly when he machined everything the first time.
