21 lighting doesn't qualify as a 21 sob gotta be a V pad bottom 21

Doesn't S.O.B.stand for single outboard boat ? Maybe it should be changed to S.O.V.H.T.O single, outboard ,v bottom, heavy, tanks, only !!!

You guys need to come to the lake in TN we have a place on. Every one of us would smoke, like today there were 30+ bass boats they all swear run 100. You guys might find it fun. We will see how I can or can't drive the Intimidator. :) Plus if we have a pack of fast boats, nobody can complain about just the Shadow being too loud. The lake is 16 miles long 156 miles shoreline, 75% national forest bordered so not over developed. Deep water, no prop worries, and the back of your truck will be walk behindable with the boat floating the ramps are so steep in the deep water. No need to get your feet wet even when loading and unloading by yourself. Come on down and bring a fleet of SOB's and whatever you got. I think it would be a blast!

I hope to make it. Wife is supposed to be on work travel then and if she is not, unless she visits her family in CT, she would never let me live down going up and not visiting them and neither would they. Hopefully I can get her to go visit them and maybe get my brother in law to come to the ROMP and party down with you guys.

You tell em Activated! You guys always ball busting each other, pretty funny. Hope I can make the ROMP.

You guys who have them know why after driving ChrisM's Shadow I got Keith's boat. Because of how they drive and handle. Way more fun than any other style boat I have ever owned. I got lucky to score the two I have.

Trust me, you buy Pontoon boats for your wives to hang out on, you buy SOB's for the rush and just........ because you want them. ;) Keith told me the stereo did not work in his boat. I was like GOOD, I plan on taking that thing out and figuring a creative way to cover the hole with something I can actually use like a mapping GPS if I can see that far over. Still looking for a Smartcraft unit and wiring harness that will work with a 2001 300x if any of you knows where one can be had.

Maybe some day I will turn on the stereo on wifey's pontoon, but I doubt it. To me anything that drains down the battery you need to start and trim the boat is not something you want to do unless you have a two battery setup and even then, you got a wacker or two for a stereo.

If you were talking to me, it is lake Watauga in north eastern TN about 35 miles from Boone NC and I would estimate depending on traffic in NY LIE and on 78 roughly 8 or 9 hours or so.

The ROMP is about a 14 hour drive for me maybe a bit longer. WAY up there.

Don't get all worked up here. No one is eliminating the lighter V bottoms out of any bias. Its just that this SOB rivalry all started around the idea of a small rough water capable Linder style / and or OPBA class 7 worthy boat. Hell everybody know there are 21' Allisons out there with 2.5 Drags that run 125+. I just don't think anyone has ever been a points winner in one in class 7. Hope that doesn't minimize any interest in these SOBs. They just have a different purpose then the fly weight boats. Built stronger so they don't bust apart in those conditions. You don't find too many that have rough water capability and can still get close to the 100 mph mark. Not trying to piss you off. Sorry if I am.

Go for it Johnny, but Ben's boat is probably fast enough already and the guy can drive. I know you have a pontoon too, but really. Playcraft has some FAST pontoons, it might be fun with enough cash sponsorship to get Ben and Greg one that will smoke the SOB's. Man I wish I had enough money to play hard core fun. Imagine getting your twin Velocity smoked by a pontoon. Ben and Greg both are probably ballsy enough and good enough wheel men to do it but me personally, I would not want to go any faster than wife's bennington or our JC pontoon run in a big ass pontoon, especially in the water you guys run in. On the lake, no problem, in big rollers I would be scared.

Pick a rough day and lets go !!! Last year Matthew ran the king of the cut run with all the SOB's.Starting at the bridge he purposely waited for every one else to leave first, then took the same coarse through the rough water and boat traffic.By the time everyone else was just getting in to Lindenhurst he was already at the Amityville cut waiting! His boat is 21 feet and has 1 motor (stock)and will out run any of those OTHER SOB's in any conditions the Great south bay can dish out.By the way,Allison doesn't make a 21,and I think 21 skaters should be included,Or maybe you should call your class S.O.V.21

Matthew boat is damm fast for what it is,it would be silly to ask him to make a Hudson run with us,or maybe he should cross the LI Sound with us.seems a little silly right, instead let's go out Sunday mornings and have a good time.Glad to see GM250 posting again,EVEN THOUGH HE PULLED HIS POSTS DOWN ALREADY.

I know matt's boat is very very fast and he is very knowledgeable in the boating community. I know for a fact he can't compete with his style of boat with the sob's in big water. Not to mention why he would want to destroy his boat doing it. So I think you should go back and research the class of boats. The last thing is if you aren't running the boat yourself not talk on other drives behalf.

Well.... Lot less rain today but wind blowing 25 steady. Sure makes for a clear day. I think I am going to go for it. Wish me luck. Wife and I went and paid all the property taxes and applied for our state Tennessee Wildlife Resources registration stickers. Cost a tad over 4K for the Shadow, Intimidator and Wife's pontoon in taxes +2% + 25 cents per transaction (REALLY?????) because they don't take out of state checks and we had to pay by CC even though our bank has a branch right down the street from their office but they don't take cash either. :icon_bs: Actual registration is 71 dollars each for 3 years for all our boats because they are between I think 20 and 26 feet long or something like that. Not bad.

Deciding what prop to put on it now, gotta put some oil in the oil tank and then take it to a gas station and fill it up with 93 Octane gas. Getting excited. Battery is charged.

Yes it is. Wife just said today this was our last morning to sit here and have breakfast because we have to go home tomorrow and can't sit around. She does not know it yet but I will be coming back Monday morning and staying until Tuesday to run the Intimidator. Way too cold and windy today. 50 degrees but 25-30MPH solid wind and I need a bigger coat. Add 85MPH to that and I will be freezing my ass off.

Come on down any time Jimmy. You are like my wife, you cannot get off work without a VERY VERY VERY good reason. Hope you can make it sometime. Hope Chris comes along as well. Any of you guys who are my friends up that way are welcome here. Be sure and bring a boat with you or drive mine, your choice.

Come on down, it would be great to have some REAL performance boats ripping up this lake. Might hurt some bass boaters who have 80K rigs, with 300XS's on them though....
