I've seen gauges like this quite often now that I'm hanging out with "Scream and Fly" type folks.. Don't have a clue what they are all about and am curious...

So whats the deal with the tubes?

It's just an aerodynamic way to top mount a gauge , drag boats in particular when you can't be looking down at a dash
