FYI… HNR ceasing cowl production effective immediately

Just so you hear it here first, I am shutting down production of the cowling side of the business for at least 5 months, probably for good... it’s been very rewarding and helped me meet all kinds of very interesting, respected and accomplished people all over the world, but I have other interests and projects that I want to focus on and this just takes too much of my time... It’s a great business for the right person, but time for me to move on... I have some stuff still in stock and will finish up the last few custom orders we have in the works, but will take no more build orders effective immediately... If someone is interested in carrying on the cowl business, I would look at all offers and certainly be willing to assist in the transition any way I can as well as future design work which is more where my interests lay. Thanks S&F and all my customers for your loyal support… I’m not going anywhere, just focussing on other projects and interests… Cheers

I thought cowlings was pretty much your entire business. What other products do you build? At one time I remember seeing where you were working on an STV capsule boat but never heard of a finished product.

We build all kinds of stuff, we have built a brand new hull and two brand new deck molds (one capsule and one open drag) all finished, ready to make boats and have not yet built a boat... i turn away boat builds every week... we also build race engines for F1 and local hot boat guys... i'm pretty much the only guy in western Canada... we work on race, hi performance and interesting boats... not just outboards... Plus going back racing/driving F1 tunnels this year with Mike Maskall and his son... we have 4 boats and will be racing at least 2, sometime 3 so much to get ready... i actually want to build a new F1 boat as well... The cowl business was just to learn a bit about infusion, carbon/kevlar layups and to help racers with better costs for cowl parts... kind of got carried away... its taking all of my time, time to get back to doing some new stuff...
