Leave the poppet dump plugged, heads teed together in the usual fashion with one hose out the back. Restrictor washers in the T-stat housings. Diverter hoses crammed in the water jackets. Water temps will run 100-140° at the head dump in summer months, and barely register on the gauge in cold water. I've run mine on an '89 200 adapter and fully-lined bass mid this way for over 8 years, with no problems.

89 is a chrome bore,no problems just plumb it right, going the other way using a 1 pc adapter on a steel bore ,causes issues. Basically you are running it like a 2.4 200 w/out a poppet. And use restrictor washers,to keep the hot water in the block longer.
