I would like to thank Brian at Tabara Racing for an awsome extensive email he sent me coscerning mounting and moding my 40 Mariner. I emailed him with a ton of questions and he answered every one clearly and fully.
Thanks again Brian
p.s about the use of a jackplate on the boat in question. The engine is a short shaft and the transom on the boat is only 14 something inches. I looked on Bob's Machine site and they have a small boat jackplate. I was just wondering if I could still use one with a short shaft and that low a transom?
You wanted to know more about the boat. It is a kit boat 13.3 feet long "class D" racer. flatbottomed. Estimated weight was 150lbs. but I think once I put the seat, steering, gas tank and battery in it will be closer to 250 or so.
Im intersted in that gearcase sanding you were talking about.
I will get back to you with more questions and progress reports.
Thanks again Brian
