Tachometer for 6 inline

Hi

I am looking for a new tachometer for my 115 inline 6 year 1984.

But what does it mean when you can set a tachometer for 4/6/8/10 and 12 poles outboard, and what does I need ?

Can I use this gauge set and adjust the tachometer for my motor ? And can anyone tell me where to wire the tahco ?
