So I have a Bobs Cone on a wasted lower. Was thinking of warming it up with a rosebud (big 300k btu) propane torch, and trying to get it off so I could put it on another lower Anyone got any bright ideas for removal, I believe this one has no welds.
Thanks Dave

I have done it a few times ..if it was put on with marine tex or similar, i just got the grinder out and ground out as much i as i could, then took a big flat chisel (not woodworking) put it between the lower unit and the nose cose hit it a few times and came right off..

Thanks, will try that first, seems like not melting the epoxy sticking to it would be good, and better for reusing. Did you then just glue it on to another?

Yes ..I just cleaned it up a bit then roughed up the surface really good and used marine tex again...don't know if you done one but use marine tex for the whole thing..don't cheap/easy way out on the finish with bondo..it will almost always crack or peel off...after you grind it out you could probably knock it off with a dead blow hammer too..have done that too
