It is my understanding the cowls are exactly the same from 1999 on, for the 280's other than the pin for the Offshore versus without on the Sport. It will also fit any 2.5L Mercury with or without alternator.

I sold the engines and do not remember the year. The engines had less than 150 hours and the boat was always stored indoors year round. Call me for more info. They are in excellent condition.
