Absolutely NOT...!! History is being made here. As I mentioned earlier, you have taken us into the heart beat of Mercury Marine. You have shared with us things that none of us would ever have the opportunity to experience. You have allowed us to get up close and personal with the actual employees, by name, that make all of this happen. To delete this thread would be catastrophic...

Im just an inquisitive old fart of a one time boat racer who has only loved one make of outboard all his life, so why on earth would I recommend you delete one of the best threads on S &F.

You may have started with a bang and 1,000 hits a day but you got an uphill struggle to keep those sort of ratings, Willabee's Hot Singles is still leader of the pack with Seeroys "Life at the lake" a good second.

I believe that is the "Tantrum", which was recently featured on Jay Leno's Garage. 1800 horsepower on race gas, 1300 0n pump gas. Jay said "this car has too much horsepower". LOL

FUGIMO, what years were the Mariner Ski motors built. 175EFI 2:1 gears, was a guy on our lake that had one he used to beat up the 200's with it. Pretty sure it didn't have a rev limiter because he sure sounded like it revved over 6k.

DaveAround 1987- I was in Product Assurance and we had a ball testing it because it really jumped out of the hole with a Hi Five. Had the nickname "Manerski" - kind of because of the Polish conglomeration of 175 and the 2:1 ratio.

Those 3.0 L are tough motors, have a few that didn't get winterized in time that have Belzona on the outside of the blocks. They crack on the outside 95% of the time.

FUGIMO, how come these engines came with what looks like a standard gearcase? In years past most Race engines came with a low water pickup gearcases.

FUGIMO, how come these engines came with what looks like a standard gearcase? In years past most Race engines came with a low water pickup gearcases.

Dave I think they have an engine height spec in that class - so maybe cooling water isn't an issue?
