Dual cable omc steering

Does anyone have a picture of the dual cable steering on a pre87 omc. There is a piece of all thread and a pipe in the second cable holder now. Maybe a part number for that second tube? thanks Rick

Here's what mine looks like with dual opposed steering. If you need one I have a few extras.

Here is what I got the boat did have dual opposing and I am going to dual coming in one side so I had to turn the second tube around so that it thread on the other side to catch the cable. When I went to unscrew it one part was some all thread tubing and the other half was just tubing. Can you screw the second tube from either side? If so I would be more than glad to send you some money for the tube like i'm saying this was rigged with home made pieces trying to resurreck a laser stv 140 xflow. thanks Rick

Yes sir. I have quite a few that will work both ways. The one in the picture was on the same side as your looking for but I went to dual opposed for better handling. Why are you going away from opposed?

I have a same side and cold not find ride guide cables for the set up that was there plus the old owner did something to the helm. This boat has been beat and i'm hoping for just a good cruiser let me know on that piece I really appreciate the help this is gonna be a challenge to put this in the water again.

As you've probably noticed, Merc discontinued the Ride-Guide cable system many, many years ago. You may still find a few new cables left over at dealers here in the U.S. It's a long shot.
