I was wondering if 2.0 one piece heads can be ran on a 2.4 chromer or just on the later phatt blocks?? If so what kind of compression #'s??.Tried a search and didn't find anything.

i put fatblock 2.0 heads on my chrome 2.4 last year to race it. you will have to remove some material from the side edge of the head (about .050'') for it to fit properly. they are slightly wider then the 2.4 1 pc heads. compression went from 125 to 145. it was a noticeable difference in acceleration hope this helps

Thanks for the reply! Can you give me a little more detail on not fitting properly? Like a clearance issue?

the head itself is wider across then the 2.4 head was. so when you put it on the block, the head bolt holes don't line up by just a little bit. so I removed material from one side of both heads so the holes lined back up. (edge against the exhaust chest) and it worked perfect. I believe there is a thread somewhere where trex does this. if you search trex and 2.4 you will find all you need!!!!

Depends on year and style of head (DOWEL PINNED OR NOT). If a late 80's 1 piece 2.0l that is not a dowel pin head it will bolt right on to the chrome bore. Done it many times. The dowel pin heads are wider and would have to be machined on the inside only to fit as mentioned earlier. I have never had that large of jump in compression. For 145 I use a 32CC head on a 2.4 and the 2L heads are 34CC in stock form and I usually get between 135-140 but still is a noticeable gain. Just my .02
