Reynolds trim indicator maybe wrong style

OK got a new trim indicator for starboard side, got the plate on motor/jackplate but the actuator when trimed down is is up but to be out it points way down. Somebody get me some pics please, its going on a cut down 15 clamp I know I got to modify the piece that bolts to swivel

Maybe I'm just a dumbass but since it says starboard you would think the cable would go down starboard side but the indicator would be wrong on that side withe the indicator facing port the indicator starts from port to starboard. Just don't know,
