15 in bass mid

Is it possible to shorten a 3 ram bass mid? I have a couple and its a long winter. Any real negatives ? My new to me euro needs a 15in mid and I am more than capable of doing the cutting and welding.

Probably can be done. Chaz does the 3-ram 3 liters. Single ram is a lot easier.

Someone posted pics a while ago of a Offshore and Bass mid cut in half. the Offshore mid had a much thicker casting than the bass mid.
