Got some free time my buddy heads down and we put the boat in. So I don't forget put the drain plug in at the house instead of the ramp. Launch the boat and seems to be sitting low but got a cooler full of favorite beverages figure most be extra weight hit the throttle boat does 11 oclock launch and off we go run for around an hour and decide to go to the sand bar to eat and drink. I open the engine hatch and water. Long story short the cover had colapsed and it rained hard by putting the plug in all that rain water was trapped. Does this qualify me for the dumb arse award.

What, no auto bilge pump? Then the answer is maybe, if you don't learn from this, then yes. I am kinda paranoid, all my boats but my stream have 2 auto pumps.

First thing I do before taking the tie downs of at the ramp is install the plug. Have a couple big hills between my place and the ramp so any water is gone by the time I hit the ramp. Just make suee if do the auto pump thing bypass the battery switch. ;)

Xstream I'm not sure about the auto part it is under an 8 qt oil pan and the only one I ever saw able to get into that engine as tight as it is Flabum on the site here he is by far the best marine mechanic I have met he is the real deal, I have a lot of power in that donzi it's not a race boat but it runs out fairly good it's quick. Problem is there is no one to ride with down here. Dave I hear ya the ride to the ramp and then the down hill and water drains this has cross members that do not drain right weep holes that do not weep. This boat will be 50 years old here shortly:eek:and was built by me with a 25 cent budget.:nonod:I would like to be able to give the boat to Aff to rebuild deck off but money is tight I'm looking for a 200 sunsport baja.

Rule makes a small 4'' tall computerized auto 500gph that I use in tandem with the an 1100 rule pump and sure bail float switch. The 500 comes on every two mins and kinda checks for water. If the 1100 comes on and I know I have a big problem or the 500 has crapped out. I like to know that no water is in the boat. 500 is on a on/off switch, 1100 auto is direct to batt with a fuse only.

Think he has a big azz oil pan so to get it under it would need to pull the motor. Or a small right angle drill- driver and short bits.;):D

Could always run a pipe off the drain plug up the transom to a pump :D :leaving:
