Just bought a boat with HDS 7 Elite Lowrance mounted on the bow. The transducer is on the trolling motor but the thing is mounted backwards from anything I have ever used. it is a skimmer with sonar and downscan built in it and it is mounted with the "bow" of the skimmer facing backwards to direction of travel ???? Anybody have one of these on their trolling motor? I am getting bars of blacked out area scrolling across the screen if I am moving. Thinking it is because of the way the thing is mounted. The transducer itself slides onto a track that bolts to the mounting bracket.

Prop reflecting the beam? Air from the prop? Move the transducer and test. I have an HDS 7 and shoot thru the hull with great results. Reads well up to about 50mph.

Thinking it is most definitely mounted backwards getting turbulence from the blunt end facing forward. I have looked on youtube and have not found anything showing this HD transducer in the skimmer style mounted on the trolling motor. Getting serial numbers and transducer info together to call Lowrance now. It has the Navionics Platinum program in it and that is impressive. I can't do much with it yet but the detail and look ahead feature is killer.
