24 Skater w 280 Offshores. Complete refit in 2004. Indoors stored since. Motors are fairly fresh, and Sportmasters have low hours. On aluminum trailer - ready to ship. More details and pricing soon, but the new boat arrives early next week in Blaine, WA and the trucker is going back to FL ( or elsewhere??) empty. Definitely a good opportunity for a deal on delivery. More details later today. The boat is currently licensed in Canada, so would have to be exported correctly, with a Bill of Lading. No Canadian taxes would apply.328848

Hey thanks for the background! You're right. I just dug out the file on it, and it was rigged by Ingle in 2004, and the motors done by Brendan Powers in late 2011. We bought the boat in Washington in the summer of 2013, and have kept it stored indoors since. It mostly used in fresh water, and occasionally gets out for an ocean run. (Followed by a lake run). When we purchased the boat we understood that the motors had very little time on them, and we have added maybe another 50 hours. So definitely less than 100 hours on fairly fresh, stock, 280 Offshores.
The previous owner added new Sportmasters and kept the boat in great condition. It still looks great, the raw water pumps are new, the gearcase lube is fresh, trailer is ready for a trip, and it's full of 94 Octane.

I'll add more details as I have time, but here are some high points:
280 Offshore's w fat shaft Sportmasters
2 Sets of Merc Cleavers - 30" and 32"
CMC manual brackets
Cockpit Cover
Full Boat Cover
Updated high back front seats
Back seat update / moved forward and rear storage area created.
Owen & Sons Aluminum trailer w 4 wheel stainless disc brakes and spare tire
2 X low pressure fuel pumps, 2 X slosh tanks, 2 X high pressure fuel pumps
Optima Batteries
Pro Charger
Stainless ladder
Stainless fire extinguishers

I may be at Lake Chelan, WA this weekend for the "Mahogany and Merlot" event.

did you buy the boat from John in Florida or did someone else I'm a little confused?are you the second owner of it out west? I remember when John was alive I remember him telling me that one of the owners ran the boat aground so hard that it destroyed the lower units I take it that's why the sport masters or new?

I bought the boat from Mike in Seattle. So I'm the second owner out west. That's not the story I got about the lower units, he had one go bad and replaced both. From looking at the Invoice it seems the left one went bad. Both were inspected and both replaced. No mention of a grounding and no evidence on the hull. Probably one of "those" stories. But we do have a lot of wood debris in the water here - lots of logging activity - I wouldn't doubt he may have hit some wood. You run here long enough, and it will happen.

Thanks everyone for the questions and PM's. I'm way behind - last weekend stretched out longer than expected with some additional business, and we're having some delays around the delivery of the new boat. Two week delay, with all the paperwork changes that go along with that..... I'll catch up before this weekend.

Sorry to hear about John, that is tragic!!! I bought the boat from him and brought it to Seattle. We talked frequently about it after I purchased it.

And, the lower units were replaced right when I got it. The prop shafts were so pitted, the seals weren't doing to much to keep water out. I had to either spend 5k fixing the old ones, or spend 10k and have 2 new ones and have spares. The season is short up here and I was one of the only guys running 2.5's, so I didn't want to miss nice days.

It's a New Year, we're ecstatic with the new boat, and the Canadian $ is at a great value for any US based buyers. I'm in a mood to clear out the inventory, and willing to take Canadian $, so call me directly for a great deal on the 24 Skater. Price will be significantly less than above. The boat is in excellent condition and currently in closed storage , but available. A test ride is possible, but gonna be cold. ( we did have the 28 up to 106 just before Christmas till our helmets froze up and visibility became an issue.........)
Boat is located in Vancouver, BC. Call Fred at 877-822-0354

How cold was it when you tested your new Skater? Sounds brutal! Maybe I should "grow some" and take mine out this winter. I've got the Jones for boating!

It was just above freezing with a weird fog coming off the lake and river. Gotta love a 28 with a windshield!! The helmet visors still froze up after a bit, but otherwise it was great. No crowds or wakeboard tsunami machines out that day. What's the windchill factor of freezing temperatures and a 106 MPH wind???

That's the view. Clear, cold and empty. Phone was freezing up as well as helmets....

Thanks to those that contacted me directly re the 24 Skater. The weather is warming up now, the boat could be run (comfortably), and most importantly - Insurance and Storage is coming up! On 5 boats!! Call me direct or PM me and let's work something out. Quick deal gets my attention. Heading to the Palm Beach Show, but will be checking PM's.

I may have a truck coming from Florida in April to the Northwest. Already have a firm price quote. As of now he's deadheading back. May be a good deal there for return trip to wherever?

Thanks for all the interest. Looks like the Skater is SOLD. And thanks to the buyer for his patience! His funds have been in trust for a bit, while we export the boat back to the US correctly through a Border Broker and Marine Titles service. Funny thing about the EPA stickers on the 280's, and US requirements re entry.

I think he is trying to keep a low profile with it until he gets it done. The hint is that it won't have merc power.
