On a 2 cycle outboard, how are the internal moving parts lubricated? By internal parts I mean the crank, piston rods etc...

By oil that burns with the fuel.

This should help

The oil is mixed with the fuel and when it is in the crankcase, it splashes onto the open roller bearings of the crank, gets into the roller bearings of the connecting rods through the holes in the rod caps and splashes onto the cylinder walls while the piston moves up...... There is also an oil re-circulation hose and check valve that pumps the puddling oil in the bottom crank bearing up to the top crank

yes, passages drilled at an angle into the crank bearing journals with the inlet facing the pistons..... down stroke of the piston helps feed the oil into the passages....

newer motors have direct oin injection to the oil point. eg there is no longer a opening in the cap to pu oil. these are the reasons newer motors cannot use mixed gas as a oiling method.
