1995 150HP Pro-max ,Complete engine that is disassembled, crank and rods are perfect , Block will need one sleeve but has no cracks or holes, one head has some damage, Has a clean SPORT MASTER gear case BUT , every lower unit that comes thru the shop has the bearing carrier pulled out to inspect the gears, this one was taken out back in the spring and since then the REVERSE gear got lost, the forward and pinion looks perfect as you can tell in the pics, I may consider parting the engine out if it doesn't sale soon, please e-mail me at

OK guys you can probably tell I don't know Crap about mercs, Someone has pointed out that this is a 4 hole CLE gear case NOT a sport Master, My bad , And YES Every thing in the pics goes, I had more pics but could only post 5,

Were the cle's on the earlier models then? It would make sense as this is a '95

if not tampered with ,the cle & sportmaster have hardened shafts, not sure on differences of internal bearings & gears. cle has a smaller nose cone area & different shape than the sporty, also the skeg is more stout on the sporty.early cle cases had 2 water intakes ,later cle cases had 4 & the side plates were wider.your pic looks like the 4 hole water intake .gear ratio should be stamped on the case by the shift shaft.i'm not an expert ,but i have ran both cases on my stv & have broken both. cles tend to crack the skeg at the rear, prop shafts can break on any of them ,including the fatshafts.the pic in my sig was taken on a swannee river run, boat was parked on the riverbank after snapping a propshaft loosing it & a 30 et. to the river, lol!

Single bearing drive shaft. Still a good case for many applications, not as strong as a sporty basically it's pre-sportmaster with wide water passages.

Just from my experience and not to hyjack this thread, but atleast we are bumping it for you. I went from a cle 2 hole to a sporty and only needed to change the carrier bearing and seals everything else switched over. I dunno about other areas but in the NJ area with the seaweed the 2 hole would always clog up and over heat the engine, you would have to hang off the back of your boat, take that side plate off and pray not to drop the screws in the water, and push a wire in till you got a small piece out and shake your head and put it back on and pray you dont hit any more seaweed lol, NIGHTMARE, If anyone has this problem running a two hole, I can give you a quick solution you would not think would be ok, the gasket another thing I was afraid to drop in the water with the screws, well I did once and from that time forward I never had a problem with seaweed getting stuck, And never had a problem with over heating cause of not getting enough water, So I suggest you try that... Or go to a Sporty cause they dont have that problem either with the wider water passages...
Sorry for this post, not trying to hyjack your thread and good luck with your sale if it was closer id snatch the parts up
