Hi Friends. I couldn't this one to myself, so hope this doesn't cross any lines with anyone and if it does, please delete the posting post haste.

The narrator is his girl, and this gent is taking a ride on the lake. If you listen to what she says and how she delivers the message, you have to enjoy. Please comment if you like. Cheers!

Cool, my dad make something like that in his young years back in the mid 1930 and early 1940's. Took a piece of wood and slapped a OB on it.

Me too. Midway in he asks her if she "got that" on tape, to which she replied "NO". Then he has to go out for a second run lol

Ya feel like a road trip down to me? And as if so, I'm gonna sell my Minimost to you for cost the materials to rebuild it, $150. Screws, wood, FG, 3 coats Poly U, hardware. Plus we can (set ya up overnight and party and BS). Love to meet ya, and the MM needs a new home anyway...getting to old of bones to mess with it water. Plus 3 other boats me, 2 run, messing with a 10 foot "Olympian" dingy at the moment...(over powered of course!)

Nice offer working every day till all the boats are winterized, over 300 for the two of us this year. My knees are way to bad to do a kneel down. ;)

Me too, but saved it from the fire pit (MM). Simple had to do it. I'll probably end up giving to some kid here when I see that "spark in his eye"! Like the way I got started long ago. And never looked back...

Yep. Were almost same age too. Him and dad built that boat and the only paint he could have was pink! I'll have to show Thoms "now stuff". Pix in house. He's the famous "Dr Frankenmerc" and has bought up ALL Merc IL6's he can find, and tears them down, rebuild PROPER. And bet he has 100 motors, L/U's, parts, etc keeping those old stacks alive! Built me my Flatty Merc too, crank up.

Thom is only 25 miles away me. Damn right. Great guy, knows his "stuff" and a hell of a nice guy. But also one ya don't BS as a ex street cop, then detective, last school there (Shelton HS) "Resource officer" And been a "cage gearherd" a kid. Many old muscle rides him like me. But he had some back surgery and "didn't go right" So retired as had time served. Been through some more health issues but "ya can't slow down the "doc"! He since those pix, besides the 40 foot container in the blocks pic, he did a new 4 car..(ok boat) off the "Merc Magic shop". Plus? He's still got "cop blood" and messing with him and can spin me around FAST, ready for cuffs punk?
Heres a today pic "some" his Merc LU's. Trust me, if its a old beast IL6, he simple got the parts".....and not sold with gone through first. Cost ya? Damn right, but he don't sell untested, or a look over anything gutted first.

I gotta show ya the build sheet for the Merc he built for me, as also bought off him my Flatty hull. Anyway.."any need a LU Merc?

More Thom..as he did me a motor while I did a the boat, as a old trailer I had needing a whole new "truck" (free here, but as rust bucket the damn salt here")

Motor he built for me..crank up fresh. Text

The powerhead I am building for you was originally a '72 1150.

The '72 1150 is a choked down 1350 with a few flow restrictions to give the lower HP rating so Merc wouldn't have to come up with a different powerhead to fill that HP range for the consumer market.

Initially this 1150 needed a rebuild because the inner water jacket had cracked and let water into #3 which was trying to die when I rescued the beast. It still had 95 psi on #3, but the rings had started to seize and consequently had scored the bore.
I had #3 bored .015 and installed a new piston there.

I had all holes pro-honed while I was at it and mic'd for roundness, etc to insure the beast was still within factory tolerences.

The block surfaces were machined too to insure everything was flat in the water jacket areas for a correct sealing.

All other pistons were carefully inspected, mic'd, & cleaned. I replaced one standard size piston too, but (4) of the (6) original pistons went back into their original holes.

Everybody got brand new rings & needle bearings.

The crankshaft got new main bearings.

The end caps got new seals & so did the crankcase.

I installed 1500 reed blocks and reeds, which meausre out the same as the original 1350 reeds.

I am installing '72 1400 carburetors - which are virtually identical to the original 1350 carbs & I am installing the original .0785main jets required for the 1350 at sea level.

The exhaust tuner plate and inner water jacket are both NOS 1350 parts that I had machined to insure they too are flat so they will seal correctly.

These modifications: Main jets, reed blocks, tuner & inner wj complete the conversion of the 1150 to a true 1350.

The only difference between the 1350 and the 1400 blocks is the 1350 had an oval tuner to the mid-section and the 1400 had the dual square port tuner to the mid-section. And,...The inner wj & tuner plate configuration changed barely.

Simple ZERO fun me. I'm NOT a person who says.."look what I bought"? More like "look what I built!" Now where did I leave my beer?......

Cops don't scare me no more, just gota know how to talk and behave around them. The coolist thing about rebuilding the old L6's is watching a guy install the pistons without breaking a ring. Those tools for installing pistons still blow my mind.
