Looking for some recommendations on props and engine height. Boat was originally a triple engine boat and previous owner changed it to twins. Boat is a 2005 with twin 300xs.

Probably want the cavitation plates very slightly above hull V line. I have just done a 45ft with twin 275 Verado's and it did 38 knots from the get go. I don't think there is anymore to be had from engine height. Good to plane out and good top speed. Faultless all around handling.

Are the engines sitting on a bracket? If so start with the propshaft level with the hull. Make sure you are getting good water pressure. From there keep raising them for optimal performance. I would start with 22 4 blade bravo ones.

Yes. Engines are on a 26" stainless marine bracket. Propshaft is about 3"
below the bottom. I tried some stock 24 bravo 1 and it will turn them around 5500rpm and 60 to 61 mph. 1.75 gear ratio and 5800 rev limiter and cavitation plate is probably a 1/4 out of the water at a fast cruise. Engines can come up 3 more holes of needed.

If you are spinning the 24's at 5500, you might be close. Definitely raise the engines the 3 holes and try it there. You just might get the 300 more rpm there. On a high performance application, it is usually recommended to run the engines 1/4 inch higher than the hull for each 12" of setback. Others say run them as high as you can still maintain good water pressure. What type of lowers are you running? If you have fleetmasters or torquemasters, you might want to block off the top 4 upper water intake holes. When they are out of the water during high speed the upper holes suck in air which lowers your water pressure.

The boat has fleetmasters on it. I will go ahead and raise them all the way up and see what happens. Thanks for the input.
