Merc v-6 cranks

Are all Merc v-6 cranks the same size ? I have heard that some shafts are 1 1/2" and others are 1 3/8" Can they be interchanged in the same block just by changing the end cap bearings to a different size. I'm asking because I have a bad crank in my 2.4 and a good crank in my 2.0. I was thinking about swapping them , but I want to know if this is feasible before I tear done the running 2.0

you gotta watch out on the rod journals...some cranks can only use top guided rods...if both motors had same casting numbers on rods your ok

to answer your question about end caps.. Yes you can.. I have done it many time. And I have used 2.0L cranks in my 2.4 also many time. And I've never run into a problem with the rod journals. With 2.0L and 2.4's But I have heard that its the 2.5 that changed the design for some cranks. But I'm no pro..
