So I have a 20 foot Rapid Craft Gale. See photo. It has a 175 XRi on it now but is rated for a 250hp engine. I took it up to 60mph and was running about 4500 RPM. I had plenty of throttle left to go but no room and way too rough of water to go much faster. It has a High Five on it now and it is not perfect and has been repaired before. I would be happy to be in the 60mph top end range at 5500 RPM. Now comes the question. SS or Aluminum 4 blade or 3 and pitch recommendations if you have had a similar boat set up and it worked well for you? 1992 Boat 1991 motor. No owners manual so not sure what the max rpm range is for this motor. Just looking for ideas and info.

I see your in shakopee I used to work at R&R marine but I'm in the middle east now.
You will want to run a stainless prop as the aluminium will have to much flex.
What pitch was the high five?

that a clam shell motor case which id before 1994+-. therefore no rev limiter. but with oil injection you should not go over 6200. i would look to try a 22-23 4blade prop. the 4 blades give you extra surface for that big boat. try to get about 6000 and the motor as high as possible. the boat doesnt have a pad so chime walk can be a issue above 60mph. raising the prop shaft center line up will reduce chime walking.

It is not clam shell motor. It is EFI. But i do like the advise and opinion. That's why i bought the 4 blade 23p Aluminum to test! !
