200 merc efi, ecu question

Looking for some info on electronic vs analog efi ecu assembly's. I was wonder if I can test run an analog ecu from a 1989 200hp merc, (which is suspect of a fault) on a 1995 200hp merc which has a electronic ecu. Any input would be appreciated.

one is digital & the 89 is analog !! yes you can switch all you like even change hp curves you will not notice all that much difference in a 150 to a 200 its surprising i only figured it out because i had 15/20 ecus in the shop a few years ago and i did a lot of testing i was surprised

Thank you for your reply, I ran the analog ecu assembly on my friends motor and tested ok. No issues. :)
