View Full Version : Mercury 260hp complete motor

SOLD! 2.5L 260hp Mercury outboard with 4 hole CLE case, single ram trim, and low time on rebuild from Top Gun (under an hour according to the meter that was installed when the rebuild was done). Comes with trim pump, fuel pump and fuel filter. I traded this for my last race boat, motor and trailer and was planning to put in on a Laser 380 Ray. That was a year ago and I still haven't started restoring the boat. Need to buy some machinery for my shop right now. I'm located in Palmerston, ON. The machine I'm Planning to buy is in Oregon, Ohio so I may be able to meet someone out that way in the near future. My camera is broken on my phone but I'll try to get someone to post pics for me shortly. $5000USD. Not really interested in splitting it up. Would like to sell as a package.

What's up with the horn throttle assembly? Resembles a bridgeport doesn't it?

Sorry for the late response. I have responded to PM's though. Ok, so I haven't got compression numbers yet because I have it hanging from a lifting ring with no stand to put it on. I'm hoping I can rig something up with my forklift to check it out this week. I talked to the builder and he said it was either a '94, or '95. It does appear to be a bridgeport horn on it but I can assure you it's not a 2.4L. As for shipping, I don't really know how to go about doing that for something like this.

The first year they made the 2.5L 260 it came with the vertical shaft horn.
