Can you block off the oil injection system, so you just use premixed oil and gas?
If so how do you occomplish this? Will the oil injection monitoring system be messed up, or the audible alarm go off?

How easy is it to do this proceedure?

Dealer said "As for the Oild Injection, the shop guys says their oil is pumped into the motor, not mixed with the gas. He said it cannot be taken off?"

Is this true?

I know my snowmobile on my snowmobile, I have a seperate Oil Pump, and I have a seperate fuel pump. Not sure where the mixing occures, but it sure can be blocked off easily.

This is one of my buddies engines, I run BLACK. Not painted black, black from the factory, well I have gray at the moment.

Thanks

If it is a carb motor you can disconnect it, the pump has a fuel and oil side, disconnect the oil side and disconnect the 4 wire warning. run at 50 to 1. On a ficht you can not disconnect the oil.

Just to elaborate, on the vro pump the oil hose is on the front. Take it off and there should be a yellow Y shaped fitting with a rubber cover for the nipple attached to the hose. Plug the hose with this and use the rubber piece to cover the VRO pump fitting and use a wire ty to hold them on.

So since it is Fuel Injected, this cannot be done?

Another reason not to buy any other brand than MERC.

I did not think that OMC made afuel injected motor other than the FITCH. Do you have the FITCH dog? If you have a Ocean pro or faststrike then it is carb. Only the FITCH's engines are EFI all others before are carb.

Unfortunatly my buddy got the fitch, he was leaning towards the Ocean Pro, since he will be running in Salt, but the dealer, talked him into the Fitch, because of the EFI and how SMOOTH it will be.

I told him it will be smooth right up till the time the oil injections systems stops working, and then it might not get you back from the ocean. Better have the back up Merc on board.

At least Merc give you a choice, if you want. Carb, EFI, or Opti.

Also to change the plugs on the optis are a bitch. Basically, you want to be able to work on your merc engine. Get the Carb, or straight EFI.
