hello to all on s&f, since i am new to the board i would like to throw out a new high perf. tip.
all this rap about cryo really is confusing. so i did some work on it myself. my new treatment is really user friendly, can be done by almost anyone with the right equipment. eg. 1. a freezer and 2. a suitable container. now comes the tricky part, the kold solution.
my personal fav. is 80%water (any) and 20% orange kool-aid. i like the orange color, reminds me of hemi racing orange, so it must be good.

alot of kool cash can be saved by using my new system i call it kitchen-Kryo. that chris xs2003 is full of it. his long windy, blowhard, technical, line of B.S. don't mean much to a guy who just saved a whole bunch on my new motor. (2-stroke).

the photo enclosed is a full mod, lightened, balanced, magnafluxed, shot peened 2.4 rod going in my motor.

the other five rods will be stock so i can see the difference the extra work and kitchen kryo makes. yes it might shake a little but that might be a hostile enviroment for checking out the data.

more on this later.

Welcome to the board!! :) Interesting idea...

While I find your post mildly amusing, it’s not technically correct.

First, your Kryo solution mix ratio is way off. I prefer 67% water, 17% Kool-Aid (hemi orange off course), 13% urine (yellow), and 3% syliva (no phlegm).

The urine will stiffen the rod and the spit will improve lubricity.

Next, the Kroygenic containment chamber must be sealed. You don't want this concoction spilling in your freezer!

chrisxs2003,

how would you know about the complex mixing foremat of kitchen kryo? after all i alone invented it. are you trying to steal my idea? or are you riding my coat tails?

it's dudes like you that keep the lawyers in business, i'm working with kool-aid to buy in bulk and a deal with a major freezer maker and and other kool things are on the table.

btw 3% spit takes way to long to produce, the pee is easy, i have not tried that (it never entered my mind) thanks for the tip.

what line of work are you in anyway? lots of info on body fluids,
maybe a cow breeder, long glove, not the pail?.......

As a junior member I don't think your quite qualified to test this rod. Oh Rex could you please step up here.....:D

JB,

I'm not trying to steal your idea. I'm just trying to help you improve the process. That's the kind of guy I am.

The Japanese have an interesting approach to problem solving. They look to "nature" for ideas. In nature, some pretty complex problems are solved using the simplest means available. That's all I'm trying to do in this instance.

Now, if "nature" wanted to improve the performance of a fishing motor rod, what would it do? Nature would say piss (yellow urine) on it 'cause it ain't gonna live. Even Kitchen Kryo won't help!

I been told by a old racer from the auto world that cryo can be done at such mild temps as 0 Degree's but would require being held at that temp for a month. I don't know how much I belive him But I figured I can't hurt the part. I think It would be better to pack the parts in a styrofoam cooler with as much dry Ice as you can pack in and around the items to be cooled. Dry ice has a much lower temp that can be found in any freezer. In fact Dry Ice is -109.3°F or -78.5°C..

I've never tried this but I have thought about it.. I have also looked into buying a Dewar and getting Liquid NitroGen from the local welding shop.

chris X.S.,

thanks for the asian twist to the age old whip it out and let 'er fly way of dousing a part.

i still stand by the fact that you are riding my coat tails, oh well if it makes you feel good so be it.

for your info i used a mod. 2.4 fishin' rod in my lawn boy, some backyard tricks are involved. like the spacer between the case and the cylinder is made from a block of pine and the rod bearing spacer is fabed from .400 shim stock and bent a little. runs mint. so far, i also painted it black and slapped on some merc stickers and drilled out the round tuner, the bad part is to get the rpm i need i had to cut the blade to 12" so you have to make more trips back and forth but it sounds cool and turns heads.

what does the xs stand for extra smoothie ?

i park my boat all winter long in a unheated storage shed so in fact my whole boat has been kithen kryoed.

too bad i dosen't get that cold in ind. or texas.

Your cryo system is nearly perfect, however, you have missed one very important step when setting up the rod for cryo treatment.
You should only treat one end of the rod at a time. This allows you to use the end of the rod sticking out of your newly formed ice pop as a convenient handle for consumption of your ice cold confectionary treat!
On a more serious note..saw cans of liquid nitrogen for sale at the hardware store today, apparently plumbers use it to freeze pipes....could be interesting.

I think I would toss some M&Ms in there too, unless you have kids that would eat them before the proper treatment time has elapsed.:)

typhoon

M&M's are a definite no no, as they chemically react with certain aluminium alloys and 4130 steel.
However, the blue ones have been found to double the strength of polymoly melding alloy, or liquid metal, which we all know is used in the newest Terminators coming off the production line!

I am very sorry guys.

I was making the poor assumption that the "protective shell" would perclude any detrimental effects to the cryogenic process underway, yet would enhance the effective disposal of the treatment media in a more efficient and productive manner....It was my opinion that commonly available "McFlurries" are manufactured with a similiar composition to the treatment media, and due to the favorable (and indeed flavor-able) heightened gross production levels shown in that market; that would therefor point to an advantagous disposal remedy of the soon to be defunct cryogenics process materials under scrutiny at this juncture. Furthermore, there exists the certain possible result of a profitable circumstance in this instance of the media modification in this particular manner; an observation not to be overlooked in any endeavor taken by a fellow S&F member.

If a concerted effort is undertaken to ensure the cleanliness of the object undergoing the cryogenic treatment process, this in turn could result in the profitable disposal of the waste media to small children in the immediate vicinity of the treatment production location. This notion of profit could also be realized at a very low cost to the consumer, ensuring sufficient demand to eliminate said waste product of the main process at hand. Also, any resultant excess income would be incrementaly and strategicly applied to the primary directives of the endeavor for further enhancements to the profitability of this venture. After said cost reductions are realized, the main process could enjoy a capacity of reduced costs of much greater means than previously encountered.

This therefor undoubtedly proves the need for further investigation into the area of the process material mixture components, their allocation, and requirements in relation to the marketability of said resulatant reminant product from the process materials that will be generated via the cryogenic treatment.

with all the sugar induced ideas you have shared i was wondering if you guys worked at a dairy queen?

kitchen kryo works well on the 2.4 test motor, it has not blown up yet, of course it has not been much over an idle as of yet.

maybe some day i can have some big name engine builders use the system? pierson, smith, the omc dude, ect.

I am resurrecting this thread to inquire about certain unsubstantiated reports regarding the LATEST advancements in the "Econo- Cryo" game. I've heard recently some interesting off-line chatter from sources (read: moles...) DEEP inside a certain mid-western based, speed-guru's top secret test facility (read: lair), of exciting new breakthrough technologies/ processes in this field. I studied your spy-photo extensively - almost didnt' spot that cryo-chamber you have artfully comouflaged under those common seat cushions and insulation!! Your chamber also looks to be covered in some type of special "cloaking" exterior-treatment similar to the SR71 - likely do to connections you have @ the Jet Propulsion Laboratory & NASA? The key word here is STEALTH - people! I.E: Hiding things in plain-site always keeps competitors guessing and gets you to the checkered-flag FIRST!! TOP NOTCH!! ;)

The Minnesota-based Royal Order of The Poonmasters are an elite, global organization - not unlike Mensa, or the Amigos... We ponder & research critical issues of a wide discrepancy ranging from; technical advancements (RE: Econ-Cryo Theory and exciting new breakthrough reciprocating-mass technology which will be released later this Spring... ;) ) to your wider-ranging socio-economic conundrum. Initiations are rarely held outside of our regional "think-tank" facilities (Tony's, The 22nd Avenue Club, Ground Zero, NORAD, Palomar...) & are NEVER discussed outside of the inner sanctum of the Royal Order (as all details of our secret- brotherhood are proprietary to all non-members). Hope' this clears things up for you Gents. :)

I visited the land of which you speak, Crabbing-Huber. You spake of 'new breakthrough riciprocating-mass technology' to come. I have seen Z. IT exists!! I’ve even been told I might even have IT someday. But most noteably and thankfully, IT is exZaxly as previously forseen, only lighter, faster, and most thankfully, at less RPM and fuel consumption. All will be revealed soon... Trikki; In so far as an org. structure, again - proprietary info here, however I can tell you that The Fraternal Order of The Poonmaster uses a business model VERY similar to that used in an organization which was made famous via a certain " Modern Stone-Aged Family" in the early/mid-1960's... Simply put gentlemen, this will mean ultimate outboard supremacy for those who embrace the new technology, D-DAY to those who dont'! Jason Huber

Not exactly, but close enough to use the term "derivative" in its most general context... Teaser: Consider a metal-joining process "borrowed" from Russian nuclear reactor technology. A process where neither the parent metal, NOR the target metal are ever heated to a temperature GREATER than 100 degrees!! In less than 36 hours , theory and reality - will become ONE!

Chernobyl was truly unfortunate - however IMO, the reported half-life and environmental effects were grossly overstated... I mean, whats a little exposure REALLY going to do anyway - right?... The key to the"Z", is to HARNESS that rogue energy - on a much smaller scale!! Imagine creating a chain reaction inside of a smaller internal combustion engine environment - in this case the subject being a V6 configuration- similar to the melt-down that occurred @ Chernobyl... The perfomance possibilities are staggering to-say-the least - no?! BTW, what you "may" have seen @ Cuisonart R&D "could" have been some third-party, outsource testing of yet another top-secret component we have in developement... Clue: These 5-6 blade props you see on the market today are for GIRLS! However THIS will be changing sooon...Take THE renowned Subject Matter Experts (outside of the Jet Propulsion Laboratories - of course...) on muliple-blade impeller technology, and introduce said technology to - say... outboard propulsion dynamics!! Bi-metal reactive cold fusion power AND a multi-vane turbine drive???? Jeez, you are just going full out 100% warp drive here...you better be nice to Merc with that new motor and give them a little while to sell it before you go public...I mean, that should be approximately equivalent to 1lb per 1hp drive after full integration and development right? Those was the numbers I heard tossed around in some dark places anyway... They were talking about some mighty high exothermic reaction cycles, paired with catonic fusion properties for the plasma compression at nominal density rates...hardly believable stuff for sure. Get that on a turbine drive and watch out!:D :D  ;) Also heard the development of that thermite plasma stuff came from this same project...sneaky.

But in order to be considered for your new role as a Poonmaster, you would be required to attend our annual convention which coincides with Balz to the Wall - fest 04' this summer. The real secret to the "Z" rod is, that it changes your compression and port timing as the RPM increases, and the rod straightens out.

It is made of a metal with incredible elasticity and memory...I believe it is called unobtanium.

This subject actually came up again in tech talk today, so here's the origins.
