I have to run pressure from inside the boat and wondering what the best way to do this is?
The pump will be in the boat now and kind of leery about high poundage running all the way to the engine.
Whats the hose choices I have and is using SS braided type overkill or about right?
Does the SS braided abrade the cables run next to it?
About what kind of price am I looking at for the fuel line?

IMO, Stainless braided hose in a marine fuel system application is not only un-necessary, but dangerous... In most situations, the proximity of the fuel lines, fuel pumps, filters, etc are always in danger of coming in contact with battery terminals, solenoid terminals, battery cutoff switch terminals and such... one spark will burn a hole in the fuel hose and if it's under pressure... well, that little fire extinguisher won't make much difference...
In all of our rigging jobs, we specified Aeroquip fabric coated hose... usually blue or black in color... looks cool, high pressure is no problem, lots of fittings and choices of hose ends, and not too expensive....
I see many people use the SST hose and I always cringe... it looks good, but that's 'bout all....

Techno, I use "SYNFLEX" non conductive hose the 3/8 size is good to 2250 psi. I get it from Motion Industries. The only problem I have found with it ,is it's real real orange. Later Bob

Out side of the saftey issues noted above ss also reaks havoc with both the digital and non-digi ecus("noise from fuel pump).I use Kieth Black or any other "push lock" hose and aluminium aircraft fittings. For propper instilation youll need a pot of hot to boilling water to ease the instalation of the hose.Suffs good to 250 psi and higher hose psi is avalible.

It meets all the NMMA specs as well as a variety of others, and is good for 250 psi. $2.00 per foot.

Thats what Ima gonna do.
Besides this isn't reinventing, this is using the right stuff.
Reinventing is the hosey thing thats going to plumb all the cables and stuff.
I don't like vacuum cleaner hose:mad:
Started the seat covers and got bored of sewing, it sucks.
2 more seams and they get glued on the seats. Gotta paint the seat first.
Started the gauge bezels and wax didn't work and neither did the plastic so back to wax
Started on the cowl on hold since I did 19 hours of OT this week, should have been sleep time. Hmm LU money?
Ordered new (classifieds) and almost finished the (classifieds) the (classified) is modeled and ready to be cast and all the hardware figured out to rig it.:D
I'm not saying what the classified is, its classified and may not work. Besides its a bit crazy. I can garruntee no one will have them though.

Any automotive parts store can sell you fuel hose that will do the job. However, Rickracer's price is great compared to what I have been paying.
