dear all
I'm at the point of buying a new cylinder boring mill for my shop. I had been looking at the Winona van Norman VB 120SF , the Italian COMEC ACF 200 and the BERCO AC 650
Any of you guys doing machining work are familiar with these machines? I need to make a final decision and would love to have some input on people working on one of these.
Many thanks for your input

I owned several Kwik-way machines, they always worked well. Also had a turret mill with a criterion head, worked well if quill had enough travel.
Yes sir , hard to beat a Kwik-way FN
Have quite a few laps on one of those machines when I was youngster working in motorcycle shops.

Agreed on the Kwik Way FN. Shed many cast iron bits off of one of those machines.
A good friend has the larger Van Norman unit in his shop (160SF) and loves it.
When buying machinery or welder's , most people go for the size they need that day. I have learned the hard way to buy for possible future needs .

As of a few months ago Kwik Way closed their doors. My tool supplier says they where the last company in the U.S. To manufacture boring equipment. Everything now comes from overseas.

That's what happens when you build Quality! I've had my quick way for almost forty years, and only bought a couple tool holders, and a handful of bits.Sorry to hear, they were good folks out there.
