I have a 225 Promax with a 260 front half, trying to wire to my 80's control box. There is no wiring harnes plug at the motor (cut off at the plug), so I am trying to match color for color. Of the 8 wires in the control box harness, I have matches for all except the red (I do have a red w/ blue at the motor), and yellow w/black. There are 15 wires in the harness at the motor. The unused wires at the motor are: tan w/ orange, purple w/ white, tan w/black, black w/white, blue w/white, green w/white, tan w/yellow and red w/blue (maybe-see above). Can anybody shed some light on this for me please-I would love to get on the water today. I have run an EFI motor which was plug n play with an identical control box, so I think this can be done, just need to figure the wires out. Thanks in advance.
