Here is my question:

Looking at getting a 4 blade 24p prop.

Currently running a 21P 3 blade and the boat will do 62 mph at 8100 rpm WOT
Had a 23P 3 blade which ran 61 mph at 6200 rpm WOT

I am at about 3100'. This is my first boat and I am really enjoying tinkering with it. What do you guys think.
Thanks in advance.

Jack plate? Setback? Gearcase?
Seems like a huge rpm diff for 2"of pitch.

I have an Atlas jackplate, 1.81:1 gearcase, I think. Not sure about setback. The 23p numbers are the most accurate... the 21. Are just from a quick glance and memory. There is a guy here selling a 24p 4 blade Bravo I for $200.... wonder if it would work?

If you can only turn a 23 to 6200rpm No Way you will turn a 24 anywhere the rpm you need to run that motor at. I used to have a 245 hp on my 186 BAJA with 2:1 gears on a CLE and could only turn 7200 with a 21 Laser or a 22 Chopper. If your boat has a CLE case it will kill speed and rpm as at our altitude positive trim is needed and fix if you need positive trim it will kill speed. When I was repairing my Torquemaster case I put on the CLE from my Cougar and lost 5mph.

I bought the Bravo and ran it all weekend, she did 65 mph with me alone in the boat without much trim or jacking the motor up, The 4 blade popped out of the hole way better than the 3 blade props I have. Overall I am pretty happy with it. I will get an accurate speed and rpms when I get my one buddy in the boat with me. My wife doesn't like anything more than 35 or 40 mph, what a sad way to live but I guess that is her choice.

I did get a ride in a STV with the EFI version of my motor and holy crap it was fast..... way cool!
