They were a Sea Ray special edition. Still just a plain ole Merc just painted white.

They were made for sea rays that sold as a package. Guy must have changed decals

There were some white V6 Mercs in 1988 and also white Mercruiser stern drives the same year, both done for Sea Ray. I wasn't aware that Merc did 'em after that.

An outboard engine becomes at least 1 year younger every time it changes owner...
Was that style cowling still around in 1994?

The SeaRay white Mercury/MerCruisers were produced for a few years actually.

94 is the last year of the squared off bucket cowling, and I believe 89 was the first year. The color searay used is actually called "oyster", more like a dirty white even when they're clean.

Yup, Oyster White. Mercury/MerCruiser supplied them to SeaRay for their open bow and cruiser line. The specific models were the Seville line and the Sorrento lines. Years were approximately 1986 through 1989. This was when there was a bit of a national recession, which affected boat builders nation wide. One of the production & marketing changes was keeping things simple, so back to black they went.
