View Full Version : Where do I get those cheap plastic steering arm-tilt tube wiper caps?

I have a newer style v4 crossflow (as well as a '75 and a mid generation too). Anyway, I got the factory dual cable steering tube setup (actual OMC), and it came with a plastic cap to go over the add-on aluminum steering tube, and the instructions warned not to use a metal cap on the aluminum tube. Where can I get spares? And can you give me a specific link, because I've been googling like crazy and I can't find any place that sells them. I must be searching wrong.

If you are looking for what I may call a "wiper seal", that goes between the cable and tube, I would like to find a couple too. I don't know if they are all the same, but I remember pics in my shop manual. I'll look for a part number, maybe it's there.

Pete to the rescue. He would be nothing without that bunny.

Pretty sure OMC did too, but at 15 bucks, it's beyond my budget:D

Got some like that years ago for the BAJA, think they were called "steersman" the work great. Just pump the grease in with the cable retracted.

Thanks Pete. That looks way higher quality than the cheapie that came with my OMC dual steering tube kit.
