I will go one record right now and give credit for this idea to Sean Goodman aka "FlatOut" up in Ontario Canada.
Have'nt freagin stopped laughing since I read his post and then put 2 and 2 together:D

I have wanted to do something like this since Rumble I but never did put it together.
I came up with ideas like burning one in a bon fire, or put one on a boat with no prop, lock it WFO and bet on how long it ran before it scattered.

Sean hit it on the head though.

A FREAGIN 4 STROKE O/B TOSS:D I still can't stop laughing!
But wait, it gets better!

Gregg Bradstock, aka Sleekster has a very unique hobby.
Can any body guess what it is??
CATAPULTS!

Do you have a visual??
I do!
I already have a call into him to see if I can sucker, I mean talk to him about "flinging" a 4 stroke O/B.

We need a scarafical 4 stroke O/B though.
Bombardier, you reading this??

My guess is, if Gregg will help us, he will need to know the weight so we can properlly "fling" this thing:D
Nothing worse than an inproperlly "flung" 4 stroke!

Come on, how about you dealers reading this??
You know it is guarantee'd to make the news.

The bigger, the better.
Preferably Honda:rolleyes:

We need a motor!!
With valves!!

Hell, the Harley guys destroy Jap bikes at all their get togethers, I got the idea of blowing one up by reading about it at VW events where they take a bug motor and chain it to 55 gallon drum and bet on how long it will run WFO before coming un-glued!!
Carl K. used to burn JohnRudes over a bonfire at his dealer meetings!!
Let's have some fun!!
I need a motor!!

Hmm...I knew that project of building a catapult back in my senior year of high school would come in handy some day.

Hey i'll bring the rope and stakes to rope off an area, don't need any poor innocent 2-stroke loving by-standsers getting hurt by that big (and I mean BIG) bad 4-stroke.:p

say..what we gonna do wit it after we toss it ya'll? wonder if we could cook some of dem burgerz ova it:D

well, first, it will have to go in an "oversized" as they are called in the funeral industry.
hole is going to have to be approx. 7.5 feet deep, 3 feet wide, and right around 5 feet long.

Man I'm gonnahve to bring some big shovels. Oh yeah, what on the headstone? How about "Another Rice Burner lost...":p

We are a merc and honda dealer.I am a merc fan.Gone black and ain't goin back.I have had my fair share of v6,s and a whole bunch of black motta's.I just gotta say the honda reputation did not grow by building junk. Those folks got thier **** together.I ask raceman to come ride in a new 25 foot tri toon last week with a 225 honda strapped to the back. The thing is the slickest thing we ever did hear. Now I do not want it on my STV,but if I am out cruising in the deck boat or poontoon it is the way to go. PS do not do the WOT throttle test on a honda, damn thing liable to out last the entire event. my two cents hf......

Forgot, the 25 tri toon ran 48 mph on gps with the 225 honda.too smooth,no sound ,no smoke and extremely quick. sorry guys It kinda hurts reporting the news we tryed to kill it, it would not die.

Oh man! This is too good!
I know of a couple dealers that would love to be apart of this! We gotta find a motor!
Plus we can bet on a grid to where its going to land from the catapult!! more for MAW!!!:D :D

That'll learn it. Prop one to turn 7000 and see how long it lasts.

I saw your post with this picture and wanted to get you to add it to this thread.
Beat me to it!
You get the feeling that Bombardier hates 4 strokes as much as "most" of us??
They have been doing some awesome, very direct, attacking false claim style of Pro 2 stroke advertising.
Still have that visual in my head of proving that you can "make a pig fly":D
Anybody ever see that episode of "Northern Exposure" where Chris built the catapult to "fling" a cow and then chikened out and "flung" a piano instead??
Freagin hillarious and definately alcohal induced!!
We go to do it!

I mean, sure the powerhead is flawed but couldn't you pull the lower unit free from a 225 Honda and bodge it onto something less humiliating?

Further, for the purposes of a "toss", couldn't you attach a trailer hitch prop to a '87 Accord and fling it? It'd probably weigh about the same with matching performance/dimensions.

I'm killin' myself laughin'. Love the catapult idea. Blowin' one up would be real good too.Like they used to say on SCTV. "That blew up real good".:D
We could also run one and slowly submerge it till it hydralics itself to death.
Or like they do at the country fairs. You pay a buck and you get a couple of whacks with a sledge.

an Accord:D

How bout this one?

We get approval from the state and then "fling" it into the river and call it an artificial reef:eek:

aint laughed this hard since the hogs ate my little brother:D

Prior to fling-age, put it on the hose, disable the governor, take it up to 2.5 Pro Max rpms, hack your watch, and step back. Don't bother to take a seat to wait out the grenading.

Out here in the northwest, we were always thinking of ways to distroy or misuse force outboards. Back when bayliner was putting them on every small boat, we would see 100's of them, come to think of it, don't see too many anymore, Anyway the funniest plan was to try to get one to run long enough to get to the party site (alot of witnesses), tie a line to it, un-bolt it, and dorp it for the anchor, while still running, just to see everyones reaction.

One of my favorite jokes was:

"is the force still with you"
