At speed for example 80 plus how well will this hull lay down should an engine blow or a sudden chop of the throttle? I only have a few hours on this hull and never tried to lay it down quick so wanted to hear some thoughts. I have always ran tunnels in the past so this is my first fast V bottom.. Thanks..

Ive only chopped the throttle with mine 3 times and all 3 were oh s***t moments. Every boat will differ due to setup (aggressive/conservative engine heights) but mine laid down fine with only a hint of starboard lean at the moment I came off the gas but immediately squared back up. It makes me really really nervous to do that because I don't feel like going through the side of the boat. Maybe I'm lucky and the stars were aligned every time but I'm fairly confident with my hull that it shouldn't try to kill me unnecessarily if I have a panic moment.

That is kind of the feeling I have gotten so far. Boat is extremely easy to drive fast and it is quite stable in the 80's. The old owner ran it to 100 everytime out but I am not quite there yet.. Little by little.. :smiletest:

Take your time with it and pick your moments.....when you're ready, push the pedal a little harder. Mine takes a nice set in the 75-80 mph range load depending, and pretty much drives itself with very little driver input well into the 90's. If the setup is close and the hull is well balanced laterally, it should drive like its on rails until either you, or it, is done. Super fun to drive fast but little boats will bite ya quickly if you're not paying attention.... Good luck...beautiful boat!

Thanks for sharing some of the old pics Frank !!!
Was playing around with it last night and it was pretty forgiving actually. Played with chopping the throttle in the 60-70 range and it just laid down really nice. Just trying to simulate blowing an engine to see what the boat will do.

That looks like a early to mid 80's 150 2.0 liter should push your rig to 75-85 mph with ease sweet rig post more pictures

It's a carbed BP, runs 102+. It ran 85 with a stock 2.0 150, 90 with a slightly warmed up 2.0. Fun boat!

It drives so damn straight it does give me a false sense of security like you've said. Have never driven it solo yet so wont get into it at all with people aboard.. That is why I keep trying to put it in all different conditions to learn all the boats quirks..

Someone decided to be sneaky and modify a clamshell to cover up that Bridgeport Mike.
